A Long Term Care Pharmacy Technician position is available in San Antonio, Texas, offering a rewarding opportunity to support medication management in a dynamic pharmacy setting. This contract role requires a valid Texas pharmacy technician license and focuses on ensuring accuracy, safety, and efficiency in pharmacy operations.

- 1:30 PM to 10:00 PM
Location:
- San Antonio, Texas
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare medications by accurately reading prescriptions, calculating dosages, measuring, mixing, counting, and labeling medications for pharmacist verification.
- Dispense medications while processing insurance claims, maintaining patient profiles, and filing prescriptions to support seamless pharmacy operations.
- Manage inventory by tracking stock levels, performing order entries, rotating stock, and ordering necessary supplies.
- Support daily pharmacy workflow including opening and closing procedures to ensure timely and efficient service delivery.
- Communicate professionally with patients, clinicians, and internal teams to assist with medication awareness and enhance patient care.
- Maintain compliance with quality checklists, safety standards, and keep a clean, organized work environment.
- Operate dispensing machines or robotics and contribute to IV room operations and compounding sterile/non-sterile preparations as needed.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid Texas Pharmacy Technician License required.
- Previous experience in long term care or similar pharmacy environments strongly preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients and healthcare team members.
- Familiarity with pharmacy automation systems and compounding procedures is a plus.
