Pharmacy Technician in San Mateo, CA

A healthcare facility in San Mateo, CA is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to join their team on a contract basis. This role offers the opportunity to work full-time with various shift options available throughout the day to accommodate different schedules, providing flexibility while supporting critical pharmacy operations.

Schedule/Hours:

• Shifts begin at 6 AM, 8 AM, 10 AM, 12 PM, 1 PM, and 3 PM
• Each shift is 8.5 hours long, including a 30-minute lunch break

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications accurately
• Manage inventory, labeling, and packaging of pharmaceuticals
• Support intravenous (IV) medication preparation and handling, particularly for those with existing IV experience
• Maintain compliance with pharmacy laws, regulations, and safety standards
• Communicate effectively with healthcare providers and patients regarding prescriptions and medication instructions

Desired Experience:

• Previous Pharmacy Technician experience is preferred
• Exposure to IV medication preparation strongly preferred; willingness to learn may be considered
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Certification or training as a Pharmacy Technician is a plus
