A leading Level I trauma county hospital seeks experienced Pharmacy Technicians to join their registry team in San Mateo, CA. This per diem role offers flexibility and the opportunity to support both inpatient and outpatient pharmacy operations in a high-volume, fast-paced healthcare environment. Ideal candidates are reliable and available to work approximately 3 to 4 days per week, averaging 24 hours with the potential for busier weeks exceeding 40 hours.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and dispense medications accurately for inpatient and outpatient settings
  • Assist pharmacists with medication management and inventory control
  • Utilize hospital technologies such as EPIC and Omnicell for medication orders and tracking
  • Support IV medication preparation and sterile compounding when required
  • Maintain compliance with safety and regulatory standards in a busy trauma center pharmacy
  • Collaborate effectively with clinical teams to ensure timely delivery of pharmacy services

Qualifications:

  • Pharmacy Technician certification or equivalent training
  • Previous experience in hospital pharmacy environments preferred
  • Exposure to IV preparation and familiarity with sterile compounding procedures a plus
  • Proficiency using EPIC and Omnicell systems highly desirable
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work flexible shifts starting at 6 am, 8 am, 10 am, 12 pm, 1 pm, or 3 pm with 8.5-hour shifts (including 30-minute lunch)
