A leading Level I trauma center hospital located in San Mateo, CA, is seeking experienced Pharmacy Technicians to fill per diem registry positions. This role offers flexibility and the opportunity to work in a high-volume, fast-paced hospital environment serving a diverse patient population.

In this registry role, candidates should be prepared to work approximately 3 to 4 days per week, averaging around 24 hours weekly, with some weeks requiring up to 40+ hours depending on workload. Shifts are 8.5 hours long, starting at various times including 6:00 AM, 8:00 AM, 10:00 AM, 12:00 PM, 1:00 PM, and 3:00 PM, with a 30-minute lunch break. Openings are available on both inpatient and outpatient pharmacy teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately prepare and dispense medications for inpatient and outpatient use.
  • Assist pharmacists in compounding, labeling, and maintaining medication inventory.
  • Utilize EPIC and Omnicell systems to ensure proper medication management.
  • Support IV medication preparation and handling under supervision, preferably with some prior IV experience.
  • Adhere strictly to safety and quality standards in a Level I trauma center environment.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Pharmacy Technician certification or equivalent credentials.
  • Previous hospital pharmacy experience strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with EPIC and Omnicell systems is a plus.
  • Exposure to IV preparation is highly desirable.
  • Ability to work independently and adapt quickly in a busy hospital setting.

Schedule:

  • Per diem, registry role with flexible shifts.
  • Typically 3-4 days per week, varying hours as needed.
  • Shift times vary between early morning and afternoon starts.
