Pharmacy Technician | Scottsdale, Arizona

This opportunity is ideal for an Arizona-licensed Pharmacy Technician with CPTB certification seeking a hospital setting focused on behavioral health. The role supports a team comprising 2 pharmacists and 1 technician in a facility with 120 licensed beds and an average daily census of 110 patients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Refill and restock Omnicell cabinets, ensuring accurate inventory counts.
• Rotate stock to prevent medication expiration and promptly remove expired, recalled, or damaged items.
• Perform scheduled cycle counts and inventory audits with precision.
• Fill medication cassettes, bins, and patient-specific medication requests.
• Deliver medications efficiently to nursing units.
• Process medication returns and credits accurately.
• Ensure exact medication packaging and labeling prior to distribution.
• Assist in monitoring high-alert medications and conducting medication room inspections.
• Prepare monthly audit documentation of medication areas.
• Support processing of patient own medications according to policy.
• Monitor emergency medication kits and antidote inventory levels.
• Participate in 2-3 days of training with pharmacist support available at all times.

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid Arizona Pharmacy Technician license with CPTB certification.
• Hospital experience with Omnicell and filling machines.
• Skilled in managing medication outdates and general technician duties.
• Familiarity with Cerner order entry system is a plus but not required.
• Experience supporting behavioral health pharmacy environments is advantageous.

Schedule and Location:

• Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 2:30 PM.
• No weekend coverage required.
• Located in Scottsdale, AZ.

This contract position offers the chance to provide essential pharmacy support covering a leave of absence starting immediately through December with potential extension.
