Per Diem Pharmacy Technician in Shelbyville, IN

A retail pharmacy is seeking an experienced Pharmacy Technician to support their team in a flexible, per diem capacity. Responsibilities include preparing medications under pharmacist direction, accurately measuring, mixing, counting, labeling, and documenting medication dosages. The technician will handle prescription processing tasks such as typing, adjudicating, and filing both new and refilled prescriptions with a strong understanding of insurance adjudications and claim rejections. Inventory management duties include removing expired medications and managing uncollected prescriptions. The role also involves cashiering, operating the cash register, providing excellent customer service, answering phones, filing prescriptions, assisting with over-the-counter sales under pharmacist guidance, and checking voicemails.

Qualified candidates should be licensed as a Pharmacy Technician in Indiana, with recent pharmacy technician experience. Certification from PTCB is preferred, and familiarity with the PioneerRX system is a plus, though training will be provided. Strong teamwork skills and a customer-focused attitude are essential.

Schedule and Shift:

• Per diem, typically 2-3 days every two weeks
• First shift hours, ranging between 9 AM–5 PM, 10 AM–6 PM, or 11 AM–7 PM
• Monday through Friday, with flexible scheduling to meet your needs
