This direct hire opportunity in Rockville, MD, offers an on-site role supporting specialty care clinics in improving patient and caregiver experiences through expert pharmacy services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Complete prior authorizations and facilitate insurance approval processes
- Source and coordinate financial assistance for patients
- Process pharmacy claims efficiently and accurately
- Oversee medication dispensing and shipping logistics
- Serve as a liaison among patients, providers, and pharmacists to ensure clear communication
- Support billing and perform administrative tasks as needed
- Engage proactively with patients and care teams to enhance the specialty pharmacy experience
Preferred Qualifications and Experience:
- Certified Pharmacy Technician with current Maryland licensure and national CPhT certification
- Prior experience in outpatient or retail specialty pharmacy settings; infusion experience is a plus
- Familiarity with specialty medications, especially those used in autoimmune, endocrinology, or oncology treatments
- Proven ability to manage specialty medication benefits investigations, prior authorization, and financial assistance programs
- Comfortable working with pharmacy software systems; experience with EMR platforms such as EPIC, Cerner, or NextGen, and specialty pharmacy systems like Therigy or Asembia1 is advantageous
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including provider appeal letter preparation
- Collaborative mindset, able to work directly with providers and clients professionally and empathetically
- Willingness to travel up to 10-15% to client sites
