An inpatient pharmacy technician position is available in Spring, TX, supporting a reputable healthcare facility with a 13-week contract starting March 9. This role works the 3 PM to 11:30 PM shift with rotating weekends, offering an opportunity to apply specialized skills in a fast-paced hospital environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist pharmacists with preparation, repackaging, compounding, filling, and delivery of medications suitable for patients from infancy through adulthood.
- Manage controlled substances, including procurement, record-keeping, storage, and distribution.
- Ensure medication appropriateness by accurately entering patient data such as diagnosis, weight, allergies, and body surface area.
- Adhere to aseptic techniques and infection control standards when preparing sterile products, maintaining required certifications.
- Verify medication accuracy in collaboration with pharmacists and maintain compliance to minimize dispensing errors.
- Perform batch, medication, and prescription order entries with attention to detail.
- Collaborate with Pharmacy Support Services to maintain adequate stock levels and follow established medication replacement procedures.
Qualifications / Desired Experience:
- Current Texas pharmacy technician license.
- National certification as a pharmacy technician.
- ACPE IV sterile compounding certification.
- Minimum of 2 years recent inpatient pharmacy experience.
- Strong knowledge of sterile product preparation and infection control protocols.
