Pharmacy Technician - Steubenville, OH

Support a busy outpatient pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician in Steubenville, OH, on a 13-week contract. This role works weekday days from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, assisting pharmacists with dispensing medications and managing patient care within an outpatient setting using NextGen order entry.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist pharmacists in the preparation and dispensing of prescription medications accurately and safely.
• Maintain and update patient medication records, including medication profiles and histories.
• Prepare medications in correct dosage forms such as pills and ointments following prescriptions.
• Verify prescription information to ensure accuracy and completeness before dispensing.
• Communicate effectively with patients and healthcare professionals about prescriptions and medication inquiries.
• Process medication orders following all safety protocols and compliance regulations.
• Ensure adherence to all federal, state, and local pharmacy laws and regulations.
• Perform administrative duties such as billing, insurance claims, and patient file management.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workspace.

Desired Experience and Qualifications:

• Previous pharmacy technician experience, retail experience is acceptable.
• Valid Ohio pharmacy technician license.
• Ability to work accurately in a fast-paced outpatient pharmacy environment.
• Strong attention to detail and communication skills.
