A direct hire opportunity is available for a detail-oriented pharmacy technician to support sterile compounding and clinical pharmacy services. This role focuses on preparing infusion therapies and managing medication dispensing processes under pharmacist guidance, ensuring compliance with rigorous state and federal pharmacy standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform sterile preparation of IV and infused medications adhering to USP 797, USP 800, and State Board of Pharmacy regulations.
  • Manage call and shipment schedules to maintain continuous patient care.
  • Collect, document, and coordinate clinical information among pharmacy, nursing, and reimbursement teams.
  • Enter patient and prescription data accurately into the pharmacy software system within regulatory guidelines.
  • Maintain cleanliness and proper operation of the pharmacy clean room.
  • Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Keep current with continuing education requirements and complete annual re-credentialing.
  • Receive, store, pick, and package medications and supplies for distribution.
  • Assist with inventory counts and formulary management.
  • Obtain additional state technical licensures as necessary to support service areas.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Valid NY Pharmacy Technician license in good standing.
  • Current certification with the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB).
  • Minimum of one year infusion setting experience preferred; candidates with IV hospital technician background will also be considered.
  • Familiarity with CareTend pharmacy system is beneficial.
  • Strong understanding of sterile compounding standards and regulatory requirements.
