This temporary pharmacy technician role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a busy pharmacy team in Clearwater, FL. You will play a key part in ensuring accurate prescription processing, managing inventory, and supporting medication handling within a fast-paced, professional environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Process and fill prescriptions, handle insurance adjudications, and resolve claim rejections efficiently
  • Prepare, package, and label medications for pharmacist verification with precision
  • Perform data entry, manage prescription documentation, and communicate clearly with patients and prescribers
  • Maintain inventory accuracy through daily cycle counts, restocking, and expiration date reviews
  • Assist with medication returns, quarantines, and destruction procedures as needed
  • Cross-train across various pharmacy functions to support department demands
  • Ensure strict compliance with HIPAA, Medicare/Medicaid, and insurance regulations

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED required
  • PTCB certification and Florida pharmacy technician license mandatory
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a pharmacy technician; call center experience preferred
  • Excellent multitasking, organizational, and time management abilities
  • Strong communication skills to interact effectively with patients, healthcare providers, and colleagues

Schedule & Location:

  • Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM
  • Position based in Clearwater, FL with an ASAP start date, approximately 1.5–2 weeks after clearance
  • This is a 13-week temp/contract opportunity
