Certified Pharmacy Technician – Contract (13 Weeks+) – Roanoke, VA Office Setting

A contract opportunity is available for a Certified Pharmacy Technician to join a professional office-based pharmacy team in Roanoke, VA. This role offers a 13-week assignment with potential extension or transition to hire, working Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM. Key Responsibilities:

• Process prescriptions efficiently, handle insurance adjudications, and resolve insurance rejections.
• Prepare, package, and label medications accurately for pharmacist verification.
• Perform data entry tasks, manage prescription paperwork, and communicate clearly with patients and prescribers.
• Maintain accurate inventory through daily cycle counts, restocking, and expiration date reviews.
• Assist with medication returns, quarantines, and proper destruction procedures.
• Support multiple pharmacy functions by cross-training and assisting department needs.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA, Medicare/Medicaid, and insurance regulations at all times.

Desired Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent (include highest education level on your resume).
• Registered Pharmacy Technician in the State of Virginia with national certification (PTCB, NHA, or EXCPT accepted).
• At least 2+ years of recent pharmacy technician experience in retail, closed-door, mail order, or long-term care settings (hospital experience not required).
• Local candidates preferred to ensure timely start and availability.
• Professional demeanor with a positive attitude, strong organizational skills, ability to multitask, and excellent time management.
