A pharmacy technician role is available in a sterile compounding environment operating within USP 797/800 cleanroom standards. This position focuses on aseptic compounding, regulatory compliance, and maintaining the integrity of a sterile production environment. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with the opportunity to transition from contract to direct hire.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform sterile compounding using validated aseptic techniques in compliance with USP 797, USP 800, and applicable state and federal regulations.
- Maintain the ISO-classified cleanroom environment through routine cleaning, sanitization, and environmental control procedures.
- Set up equipment, label products, conduct calculations, perform filtration, and document production activities with precision.
- Prepare batches, stage materials, and collaborate closely with pharmacists and supervisors to meet daily production targets.
- Engage in continuous improvement efforts including root cause analysis and waste reduction to optimize workflow efficiency.
- Conduct quality support tasks such as visual inspection, sample handling, cleaning validations, and inventory rotation (FIFO).
- Adhere strictly to proper garbing, gowning, and cleanroom behavioral protocols to ensure sterility and safety.
- Communicate effectively with team members regarding workload, equipment issues, and process enhancements.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a sterile compounding pharmacy technician.
- Strong knowledge of sterile techniques, aseptic behavior, and cleanroom operations.
- Ability to accurately follow detailed procedures, compounding formulas, and batch records.
- Proficient in basic math calculations and accuracy-driven tasks.
- Comfortable wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) including masks, gowns, and sterile garb for extended durations.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced production setting.
- Demonstrated sense of ownership and accountability relating to compliance and work output.
- Active Michigan Pharmacy Technician license.
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) credential or the ability to obtain it within the required timeframe.
