Join a specialized sterile compounding pharmacy environment as a Pharmacy Technician, operating within a USP 797/800 cleanroom suite. This contract position offers a Monday through Friday day shift from 9am to 6pm, with the potential for direct hire based on performance and fit.

Location: Troy, MI
Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday
  • 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform aseptic sterile compounding compliant with USP 797, USP 800, and all relevant state and federal regulations, ensuring the highest quality standards for compounded products.
  • Maintain ISO-classified cleanroom conditions via routine cleaning, sanitization, and environmental monitoring to safeguard a patient-safe sterile production environment.
  • Accurately execute production tasks including equipment setup, labeling, mathematical calculations, filtration, and comprehensive documentation.
  • Support production workflow by preparing batches, staging materials, and collaborating with pharmacists and supervisors to meet daily compounding targets.
  • Engage in continuous improvement initiatives such as root cause analysis and waste reduction to enhance operational efficiency and quality.
  • Perform quality support activities including visual inspections, sample handling, cleaning validations, and inventory rotation following FIFO principles.
  • Adhere strictly to garbing, gowning, and cleanroom behavioral protocols to maintain sterility and ensure team safety.
  • Maintain open, effective communication with team members and leadership regarding workload, equipment status, and process enhancement opportunities.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Proven experience as a sterile compounding pharmacy technician in a regulated environment.
  • Deep understanding of sterile technique, aseptic behavior, and cleanroom operations.
  • Ability to follow detailed written procedures, compounding formulas, and batch records precisely.
  • Proficient in math calculations, measurements, and accuracy-critical tasks.
  • Comfortable working in personal protective equipment (PPE) including masks, gowns, gloves, and sterile attire for extended periods.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills suited to a fast-paced production setting.
  • Strong ownership and accountability regarding work quality and cleanroom compliance.
  • Valid Michigan pharmacy technician license.
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT), or ability to obtain certification within the required timeframe.
