Operating within a USP 797/800 cleanroom suite, this role focuses on sterile compounding in a regulated, compounding pharmacy environment. You will apply validated aseptic techniques to prepare sterile products, maintain the integrity of an ISO-classified cleanroom, and ensure full regulatory compliance. This contract opportunity offers day shifts (9am - 6pm, Monday through Friday) with the chance for direct hire.
Responsibilities:
- Perform sterile compounding using aseptic techniques compliant with USP 797/800 and state/federal regulations.
- Maintain cleanroom environment through routine cleaning, sanitization, and environmental controls.
- Execute production tasks including equipment setup, labeling, calculations, filtration, and documentation with precision.
- Support production planning by preparing and staging materials, collaborating closely with pharmacists and supervisors.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives such as root cause analysis and waste reduction to optimize workflow.
- Conduct quality support activities like visual inspection, cleaning validations, and inventory rotation (FIFO).
- Adhere rigorously to garbing and gowning protocols, maintaining sterile and safe conditions.
- Communicate effectively with team members regarding workload, equipment, and process enhancements.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience as a sterile compounding pharmacy technician.
- Strong knowledge of aseptic behavior, sterile technique, and cleanroom operations.
- Ability to follow detailed compounding formulas, batch records, and written procedures.
- Proficient in basic math calculations and precise measurements.
- Comfortable working extended periods in PPE, including masks, gowns, gloves, and sterile garb.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced production environment.
- Demonstrated ownership and accountability for work quality and compliance.
- Michigan pharmacy technician license required.
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) credential or ability to obtain within required timeframe.
