This opportunity is ideal for a dedicated, bilingual Pharmacy Technician eager to advance their career in a dynamic retail pharmacy setting. The role offers a 13-week contract-to-hire position based in Van Nuys, CA, with the potential to grow into a Clinical Liaison or leadership role. The environment is collaborative, staffed by a team equally committed to quality and patient care, particularly within a large diabetic patient population.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing strong clinical support alongside pharmacists, focusing on medication reviews and patient counseling
- Processing and accurately filling approximately 250 prescriptions daily
- Performing data entry, prescription processing, and managing insurance adjudications including prior authorizations
- Delivering high-level customer service and assisting with bilingual patient communication
- Supporting medication synchronization, adherence, and patient follow-ups
- Maintaining compliance with pharmacy regulations and assisting with workflow coordination as the role evolves
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Active, clear California Pharmacy Technician License
- Retail pharmacy technician experience required; 2+ years in clinical pharmacy preferred
- Prior Authorization experience preferred
- Bilingual in Spanish and English strongly preferred
- PTCB certification is a plus but not mandatory
- Demonstrated reliability, professionalism, strong clinical knowledge, and excellent judgment
- Confidence in diabetes management and insulin counseling
- Patient-focused with superior counseling skills and a commitment to long-term career development
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM
- Rotating Saturdays 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM (with a prior Wednesday off if working Saturday)
