A Certified Pharmacy Technician position is available on a 13-week contract in Roanoke, VA, focusing on retail pharmacy operations. This role requires a candidate proficient in prescription processing and inventory management, with strong communication skills and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process and fill prescriptions, including insurance claim adjudications and rejection resolution.
- Prepare, package, and label medications for pharmacist verification.
- Perform data entry tasks and manage prescription paperwork.
- Communicate with patients and prescribers regarding prescription statuses.
- Maintain accurate inventory through cycle counts, restocking, and expiration checks.
- Assist with handling returns, medication quarantines, and disposals.
- Support various pharmacy functions through cross-training.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, Medicare/Medicaid, and insurance regulations.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED.
- PTCB certification and valid pharmacy technician license in good standing.
- Minimum of 2 years pharmacy technician experience, preferably in retail settings; call center experience is a plus.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and strong multitasking abilities.
- Effective communication skills with patients, providers, and team members.
Schedule:
- Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.
