Certified Mail Order Pharmacy Technician in Vinton, VA

A Certified Pharmacy Technician position is available on a 13-week contract in Roanoke, VA, focusing on retail pharmacy operations. This role requires a candidate proficient in prescription processing and inventory management, with strong communication skills and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process and fill prescriptions, including insurance claim adjudications and rejection resolution.
• Prepare, package, and label medications for pharmacist verification.
• Perform data entry tasks and manage prescription paperwork.
• Communicate with patients and prescribers regarding prescription statuses.
• Maintain accurate inventory through cycle counts, restocking, and expiration checks.
• Assist with handling returns, medication quarantines, and disposals.
• Support various pharmacy functions through cross-training.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA, Medicare/Medicaid, and insurance regulations.

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or GED.
• PTCB certification and valid pharmacy technician license in good standing.
• Minimum of 2 years pharmacy technician experience, preferably in retail settings; call center experience is a plus.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and strong multitasking abilities.
• Effective communication skills with patients, providers, and team members.

Schedule:

• Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.
