A specialized role in sterile compounding pharmacy offers the opportunity to operate within a USP 797/800 cleanroom suite, ensuring adherence to aseptic techniques and maintaining a high-quality sterile production environment. Responsibilities:
- Perform sterile compounding following USP 797, 800 standards and state/federal regulations to ensure product safety and quality.
- Maintain ISO-classified cleanroom environment through regular cleaning, sanitization, and environmental controls.
- Manage production activities including equipment setup, labeling, calculations, filtration, and thorough documentation.
- Support batch preparation, material staging, and coordinate with pharmacists and supervisors to meet daily targets.
- Engage in continuous improvement efforts such as root cause analysis and waste reduction to optimize workflow.
- Conduct quality support tasks such as visual inspections, sample handling, cleaning validations, and inventory management.
- Adhere strictly to garbing procedures and cleanroom behavioral protocols to safeguard product sterility.
- Communicate effectively with team members regarding workload, equipment status, and process enhancements.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience as a sterile compounding pharmacy technician in a regulated cleanroom environment.
- Solid understanding of aseptic techniques, sterile behavior, and cleanroom operations.
- Proficiency in following detailed procedures, compounding formulas, and completing accurate batch records.
- Skilled in basic mathematical calculations critical to compounding accuracy.
- Comfortable wearing PPE including masks, gowns, gloves, and sterile garb for extended shifts.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced setting.
- Demonstrated accountability and ownership for compliance and quality outcomes.
- Valid Michigan pharmacy technician license.
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) or ability to obtain certification within required timeframe.
