This role involves working within a USP 797/800 cleanroom suite to perform aseptic compounding while ensuring strict regulatory compliance and maintaining the integrity of a sterile production environment. Operating in a compounding pharmacy setting, the Pharmacy Technician will apply advanced sterile compounding techniques, collaborating closely with pharmacists and supervisors to meet daily production goals and uphold quality standards.

Responsibilities:
- Perform sterile compounding using validated aseptic techniques aligned with USP 797/800 and applicable state and federal regulations.
- Maintain ISO-classified cleanroom environment through rigorous cleaning, sanitization, and environmental controls.
- Execute production tasks including equipment setup, labeling, calculations, filtration, and thorough documentation.
- Prepare batches, stage materials, and coordinate with team members to meet compounding targets efficiently.
- Engage in continuous improvement initiatives such as root cause analysis and waste reduction to optimize workflow.
- Support quality assurance activities including visual inspection, cleaning validations, sample handling, and inventory rotation (FIFO).
- Adhere strictly to garbing and gowning protocols and uphold cleanroom behavioral standards.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and colleagues about workload, equipment issues, and improvement opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience as a sterile compounding pharmacy technician in a regulated cleanroom environment.
- In-depth knowledge of sterile techniques, aseptic protocols, and cleanroom operations.
- Ability to follow precise procedures, compounding formulas, and complete accurate batch records.
- Proficient in basic math calculations and attention to detail for accuracy-driven tasks.
- Comfortable wearing PPE (masks, gowns, gloves, sterile garb) for extended periods.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced production setting.
- Strong ownership mentality and commitment to cleanroom compliance.
- Active Michigan Pharmacy Technician license required.
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) or willingness to obtain certification within the required timeframe.
