A healthcare facility in Waukegan, IL is seeking a detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to support medication distribution in a busy behavioral hospital setting. This Per Diem role offers an opportunity for local candidates to contribute to patient care in a dynamic environment with an average daily census of 145 and 300-400 scripts filled daily.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately fill and deliver medications to patient units
  • Utilize HCS order entry system and Omnicell automation for medication management (training provided)
  • Maintain compliance with facility policies and dress code standards
  • Complete 2-3 days of pre-start training and orientation

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Valid Illinois Pharmacy Technician license required
  • Ability to walk up to 10,000 steps per day
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in medication handling
  • Willingness to work 2-3 shifts per week, primarily 6am-4pm, with potential extended hours and occasional weekends
  • Local candidates only due to on-site training and coverage needs

Schedule / Hours:

  • Approximately 2-3 shifts per week, starting ASAP through July
  • Shifts primarily 6am-4pm, with possible later hours and weekend availability

Dress Code:

  • Scrubs in black or gray, or business casual attire (no jeans, rips, or stains)
  • Closed-toed shoes required
  • Natural hair color preferred; face piercings allowed
  • No hats except for religious or medical reasons
