An acute care inpatient hospital is seeking a skilled Pharmacy Technician to support both inpatient operations and sterile compounding. This 13-week contract position offers the possibility of hire upon completion and requires experience working in a hospital pharmacy setting.
You will play a key role in preparing medication batches, maintaining sterile compounding clean room standards, and managing crash carts including Omnicell and auto cart fill systems. This position demands attention to detail and the ability to work effectively within a fast-paced inpatient environment.
Schedule & Hours:
- Monday through Friday, rotating shifts between 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM; 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM; and 2:30 PM – 10:00 PM
- Rotating weekends required
Responsibilities:
- Compound sterile medication batches adhering to hospital protocols
- Prepare and maintain crash carts and manage Omnicell and auto cart automation systems
- Perform inpatient pharmacy technician duties supporting clinical pharmacists
- Ensure compliance with safety and cleanliness standards in the sterile compounding clean room
Qualifications & Experience:
- Current Illinois Pharmacy Technician license
- PTCB (Pharmacy Technician Certification Board) certification
- Prior inpatient hospital pharmacy experience
- Proficient in sterile compounding techniques and clean room procedures
