A home infusion specialty pharmacy with multiple locations nationwide is seeking 3-5 Patient Care Coordinators to support their onsite pharmacy operations in New Castle, DE. This contract-to-hire opportunity offers a schedule of either 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. or 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with a start date as soon as possible. The initial contract term is 13 weeks, with potential for permanent placement based on performance.
In this crucial role, you will serve as a liaison between the pharmacy department and patients, healthcare providers, and caregivers to coordinate upcoming orders. Strong communication skills are essential, along with attention to detail and the ability to maintain organized workflows. You will be expected to apply your knowledge of pharmacy processes, including dosage calculations and clinical basics, to perform required patient assessments during order refills. Familiarity with insurance protocols and prior authorizations is also necessary.
Qualified candidates should possess:
- 1-2 years of pharmacy technician experience, preferably within retail or long-term care settings
- Knowledge of pharmacy operations and clinical fundamentals
- Experience with CareTend software is favored but not mandatory
- High School Diploma or GED
- Self-motivated mindset and ability to collaborate effectively within a team
- National certification as a pharmacy technician is highly preferred (though DE does not require state licensure)
