A Day Shift Production Pharmacy Technician opportunity is available in a closed-door Long-Term Care (LTC) facility located in Bardonia, New York. This direct hire position offers a hands-on role in medication preparation and inventory management, supporting the delivery of high-quality care to residents. The technician will be cross-trained to operate in both the dosage department and toting processes, ensuring versatility and comprehensive workflow support.
Responsibilities include preparing medications in appropriate packaging such as blister packs and unit-dose formats, assisting with medication ordering, receiving, and stocking, and monitoring medication storage conditions and expiration dates. Maintaining accurate patient and medication records is essential to ensure safety and compliance within the pharmacy system. The role uses the Frameworks software system, with training provided for candidates new to the platform. The pharmacy handles a volume of approximately 600 prescriptions per day, indicating a fast-paced environment.
Schedule:
- Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Rotating weekends
Desired Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year of pharmacy technician experience
- New York State Pharmacy Technician License preferred but not required
- PTCB certification preferred but not required
- Ability to learn new software systems and processes quickly
