Staff Pharmacist in Altoona, PA

A direct hire opportunity is available for an experienced Staff Pharmacist ready to contribute to a dynamic pharmacy team. This role offers variable day and afternoon shifts with a start date as soon as possible, based in Altoona, PA.

Key responsibilities include maintaining a strong collaborative relationship with the store operations team to promote associate engagement and effectively communicate departmental and company strategies. You will ensure the accuracy and appropriateness of all prescriptions by performing thorough Drug Utilization Reviews and final quality assurance in compliance with state and federal Board of Pharmacy regulations. Managing the department with a focus on profitability and growth, you will implement clinical programs such as immunizations and Medication Therapy Management (MTM).

Additional duties involve inventory control through weekly sales tracking, ordering pharmaceutical stock, and aligning performance objectives to key department metrics. Providing exceptional customer service by assisting with medical-related inquiries, supervising pharmacy staff, and managing training, coaching, and discipline are critical components of this role. You will also maintain pharmacy security, resolve customer complaints, and coordinate with physicians to ensure high-quality care.

Responsibilities extend to maintaining an organized pharmacy environment, prioritizing tasks like cycle counts, inventory management, and customer will-calls. Continuous staff development and cost control are essential for improving department performance and reducing turnover.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Bachelor of Pharmacy or Pharm.D. degree
• Current Pennsylvania Pharmacist License
• Current Pennsylvania Immunization License
