An opportunity is available for a licensed pharmacy technician to support inpatient pharmacy operations in the Anaheim, CA area. This contract role begins with full-time hours for approximately one month and transitions to a PRN position. Ideal candidates will be local to the Los Angeles area and comfortable working flexible shifts.
Responsibilities include:
- Performing IV compounding to prepare sterile admixtures in compliance with safety and quality standards
- Accurately filling and managing Pyxis automated medication dispensing systems
- Assisting pharmacists with order entry using the Paragon/Allscripts system
- Supporting daily inpatient pharmacy functions with attention to detail and regulatory adherence
- Collaborating with pharmacy staff across rotating shifts, including weekends
Qualifications:
- Current and valid California Pharmacy Technician license required
- Proven experience with IV compounding procedures
- Proficiency in operating Pyxis medication automation systems
- Strong knowledge of inpatient pharmacy processes and protocols
- Ability to work rotating shifts between 7:30 am to 8:30 pm on weekdays and 8:00 am to 4:30 pm on weekends
Shift Schedule:
- Rotating shifts between 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM and 12:00 PM – 8:30 PM on weekdays
- Weekend shifts 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (Saturday and Sunday)
This role supports a 117-bed inpatient facility averaging 44 patients daily, providing vital pharmacy services. The position offers the chance to gain on-site hospital experience with state-of-the-art automation technology.
