A skilled Pharmacy Technician is needed for an interim inpatient role in the Anaheim area, supporting a facility with 117 licensed beds and an average daily census of 44. This position offers a full-time schedule initially, transitioning to a PRN role, ideal for a local professional familiar with hospital pharmacy operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and compound IV medications with accuracy and adherence to safety standards.
- Manage medication dispensing and inventory using Pyxis automated systems.
- Support pharmacy operations including order entry through Paragon/Allscripts systems.
- Collaborate with pharmacy staff to maintain efficient workflow and patient care.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid California Pharmacy Technician license is mandatory.
- Proven experience with IV compounding and filling medications using Pyxis or similar automated systems.
- Familiarity with inpatient pharmacy workflows and hospital order entry software.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work flexible shifts.
Schedule:
- Full-time (40 hours/week) for approximately four weeks.
- Shift rotations vary between 7:30 AM–4:00 PM and 12:00 PM–8:30 PM, with weekend shifts from 8:00 AM–4:30 PM.
- Transition to a PRN schedule after the initial contract period, with availability to cover as needed.
