A contract opportunity is available for skilled pharmacists to provide essential support in outpatient oncology infusion settings across multiple healthcare locations in the Greater Los Angeles Area. This role focuses on the accurate verification and checking of IV medication orders, requiring proficiency with USP 797 and USP 800 standards. Candidates should have strong IV preparation experience; chemotherapy experience is highly desirable but not mandatory.
Locations for this position include several healthcare campuses in West Los Angeles, Santa Monica, Atascadero, and other sites throughout the Los Angeles metro area. Flexibility to travel between these locations is important for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and verify intravenous medication orders, ensuring compliance with safety standards and protocols
- Collaborate with clinical teams to maintain high-quality pharmaceutical care
- Support outpatient oncology infusion services by accurately preparing and checking chemotherapy and other IV therapies
- Utilize electronic health record software, including EPIC, to document and track medication administration
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Current pharmacist license and credentials to practice
- Strong expertise in IV medication preparation and USP 797/800 standards
- Experience in oncology pharmacy or chemo drug preparation highly preferred
- Ability and willingness to travel between various healthcare sites within a metropolitan area
- Familiarity with EPIC or similar healthcare IT systems preferred
Schedule:
- Monday through Friday, daytime hours
