This contract opportunity is for a skilled pharmacist to provide essential pharmacy services in a Long Term Care setting. The 8-week assignment requires a licensed Minnesota pharmacist confident in delivering patient-centered care and medication management. Flexible shift availability is key to support rotating weekend schedules.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately accept and dispense prescription medications in compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
  • Monitor patient medication usage to prevent overuse and ensure compliance.
  • Maintain confidential patient records and pharmacy files meticulously.
  • Counsel patients on medication usage, potential side effects, and drug interactions.
  • Provide additional health services such as smoking cessation support, blood pressure measurement, and cholesterol management.
  • Educate patients on proper use and handling of medical devices including blood pressure monitors and glucose meters.
  • Compound medications and prepare sterile solutions following established procedures.
  • Supervise pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks, ensuring smooth workflow.
  • Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, pharmacy interns, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Current, active Minnesota pharmacist license.
  • Willingness to be trained if coming from a retail pharmacy background.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients and healthcare team members.
  • Ability to handle multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of professional ethics and patient confidentiality.

Schedule:

  • Shift rotations include 9:30 am–6:00 pm, 10:00 am–6:30 pm, or 11:00 am–8:30 pm.
  • Weekend rotation required.
