A pharmacy team is seeking two pharmacists for a contract position with the possibility of transitioning to permanent employment based on performance. This opportunity involves working long-term care prescriptions and performing comprehensive pharmacy duties.

Location

  • Arlington, TX (contract based at a facility near Grand Prairie, TX)

Schedule

  • Monday to Friday, 3:30 PM – 12:00 AM and/or 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM
  • Rotating weekends

Responsibilities

  • Accept and dispense prescription medications accurately and efficiently
  • Monitor patient medication compliance and usage patterns
  • Ensure medication supply and prescribing practices comply with legal standards
  • Maintain confidential patient records and pharmacy documentation
  • Provide patient counseling regarding medications, administration, side effects, and drug interactions
  • Offer additional patient services such as smoking cessation, blood pressure measurement, and cholesterol management
  • Educate patients on the proper use of medical devices like glucose meters and blood pressure monitors
  • Compound medications and prepare sterile solutions following protocols
  • Supervise pharmacy staff including pharmacy technicians and clerks
  • Maintain pharmaceutical and medical supply inventories
  • Identify and resolve drug-related problems while collaborating with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals

Qualifications

  • Valid Texas pharmacist license (required)
  • Willingness to train retail pharmacists for this specialized role
  • Strong communication and supervision skills

This is a 9-week contract with immediate start. Candidates performing successfully during the contract period may be offered permanent placement.
