Staff Pharmacist | Astoria, Oregon

A community hospital on the scenic Oregon Coast is seeking a licensed pharmacist for a 13-week assignment, ideal for those who thrive in a small, rural healthcare setting. This role requires a pharmacist with full-time availability able to start promptly and travel to the site.

Responsibilities include order verification, supervising pharmacy technicians, applying pharmacokinetics principles, and providing consultation to physicians and nurses. The pharmacist will integrate closely with clinical staff to ensure optimal medication use and patient safety. Experience with Cerner electronic health records and Pyxis automated dispensing systems is essential.

Schedule and Hours:

• Day shifts only
• Weekdays 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
• Weekends 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
• Shifts ranging from 10 to 12 hours

Qualifications:

• Active Oregon pharmacist license required
• Strong clinical and communication skills for collaborating with healthcare teams
• Experience in hospital pharmacy settings preferred
• Ability to work independently in a rural hospital environment
• Competency in order verification and supervisory responsibilities
• Familiarity with Cerner EHR and Pyxis systems
