Per Diem Staff Pharmacist in Aurora, CO

A retail pharmacy associated with a hospital is seeking a dedicated Staff Pharmacist for per diem coverage from August 24th through August 28th. This role offers the unique opportunity to manage the pharmacy independently, ensuring the highest quality of patient care and pharmacy operations.

Location:

• Aurora, Colorado (assignment based in Haxtun, Colorado)
• Facility type: Retail pharmacy affiliated with a hospital
• Housing may be available onsite; alternatively, hotel accommodations can be arranged if needed.

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM
• Includes a 1-hour lunch break

Responsibilities:

• Manage pharmacy operations autonomously, overseeing all daily activities
• Counsel patients on medication use, safety, and adherence
• Fill and dispense prescriptions accurately and efficiently
• Perform final verifications to ensure prescription accuracy
• Collaborate with a team including 2 full-time pharmacy technicians and a PRN pharmacist (rarely onsite)
• Handle an average volume of approximately 500 prescriptions per week

Qualifications:

• Active and clear Colorado pharmacist license required
• Recent pharmacist experience preferred; new graduates are welcome to apply
• Comfortable working independently as the sole pharmacist on site
• Strong communication and organizational skills essential
