A pharmacy opportunity is available for a Staff Pharmacist on a 13-week contract with potential for contract-to-hire based on performance. This role requires a licensed pharmacist in Colorado to work in Aurora, CO, with flexibility to cover day and evening shifts beginning as early as 7 a.m. and ending as late as 11 p.m., including rotating weekends. Candidates ready to start immediately are encouraged, as client contract processes may take time.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accept and accurately dispense prescription medications
  • Monitor patient compliance and detect over-usage patterns
  • Ensure medication supply adheres to legal standards
  • Verify that prescribed medications are appropriate for patients
  • Maintain detailed, confidential patient records and pharmacy files
  • Counsel patients on medication usage, possible side effects, and answer questions
  • Provide advice on prescription and over-the-counter medications, including dosage, storage, and drug interactions
  • Deliver patient services such as smoking cessation, blood pressure checks, and cholesterol management
  • Educate patients on proper use of medical devices (e.g., blood pressure monitors, glucose meters)
  • Compound medications and prepare sterile solutions according to protocols
  • Supervise pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks
  • Manage inventory of pharmaceutical and medical supplies
  • Identify drug-related patient issues and collaborate effectively with healthcare providers

Qualifications:

  • Active pharmacist license in Colorado (license must be in-hand)
  • Retail pharmacy experience welcomed; training available for retail pharmacists transitioning into the role
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including rotating weekend shifts
