A pharmacy operation in Bentonville, AR is seeking a licensed pharmacist for a 13-week contract position with potential to convert to permanent employment based on performance. This role offers an opportunity to develop skills in long-term care pharmacy services, with a focus on patient safety and medication management.

Location:

  • Bentonville, AR (approximately 30 minutes north of Fayetteville)

Schedule:

  • Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM
  • Rotating weekends every 3 weeks

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accept and dispense prescription medications accurately and securely
  • Monitor patient medication usage for compliance and prevent overuse
  • Ensure medication supply management complies with legal regulations
  • Advise patients on proper medication use, potential side effects, and respond to their queries
  • Provide counseling on both prescription and over-the-counter medications, including dosages, storage, and drug interactions
  • Offer additional patient services such as smoking cessation, blood pressure and cholesterol monitoring
  • Educate patients on the operation of medical devices like blood pressure monitors and glucose meters
  • Compound medications and prepare sterile solutions following established protocols
  • Supervise pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks
  • Maintain pharmacy inventory and timely restocking
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to identify and resolve drug-related problems

Qualifications / Desired Experience:

  • Current pharmacist license valid in Arkansas
  • Open to retail pharmacists willing to train for long-term care pharmacy
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidential patient records and pharmacy files
  • Experience with sterile compounding and pharmacy supervision is a plus

This contract role begins immediately and lasts 13 weeks with a Monday through Friday day shift schedule and rotating weekends. Candidates should submit an updated resume, a copy of their Arkansas pharmacist license, and any required right-to-represent documentation.
