Provide expert pharmacy care as a Staff Pharmacist specializing in home infusion therapy at an ambulatory infusion clinic serving patients with complex acute and chronic needs. This per diem opportunity offers flexible scheduling with a focus on delivering clinical pharmacy support in a collaborative healthcare environment.

Location: Portland, ME
Job Type: Per Diem (PRN)
Schedule/Shift:

  • Approximately 2 days per month with flexible scheduling
  • Additional PRN coverage available

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate physician orders and verify insurance benefits to ensure accurate processing
  • Perform sterile compounding and maintain cleanroom operations according to USP 797 standards
  • Dispense medications and infusion-related supplies safely and accurately
  • Maintain detailed patient and pharmacy records in compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, nurses, and healthcare team members to optimize patient outcomes
  • Supervise pharmacy technicians and support staff in daily operations
  • Manage assigned patient caseloads and provide pharmacist coverage as needed

Qualifications:

  • Active Maine Pharmacist License in good standing
  • Minimum of 1 year pharmacy experience; 2+ years clinical pharmacy experience preferred
  • Required experience in infusion therapy and sterile compounding
  • Strong knowledge of USP 797 sterile compounding standards
  • Excellent communication, multitasking, time management, and critical-thinking skills
