Provide expert pharmaceutical care in a dynamic setting as a Staff Pharmacist in Bridgeton, NJ. This contract opportunity begins ASAP and lasts for 8 weeks, offering a challenging role with day shifts, some evenings, and rotating weekends.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately accept, dispense, and counsel patients on prescription medications.
  • Monitor patient medication compliance and detect over-usage patterns to ensure safe and effective therapy.
  • Maintain strict adherence to legal requirements regarding medicine supply and prescriptions.
  • Keep confidential and accurate patient records and pharmacy documentation.
  • Provide detailed consultation on medication administration, potential side effects, storage, and drug interactions.
  • Deliver specialized patient services including smoking cessation support, blood pressure monitoring, and cholesterol management.
  • Educate patients on proper use and maintenance of medical devices such as glucose meters and blood pressure monitors.
  • Compound medications for both internal and external use following sterile preparation protocols.
  • Supervise pharmacy staff, including technicians and clerks, ensuring smooth daily operations.
  • Manage inventory levels for pharmaceuticals and medical supplies effectively.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals—physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and interns—to resolve drug-related issues and optimize patient care.

Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree.
  • Active NJ state pharmacy license.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in a multidisciplinary healthcare environment.
  • Experience with medication compounding and sterile preparation is preferred.
  • Leadership experience supervising pharmacy staff is a plus.
