Retail Staff Pharmacist in Bronx, NY

A specialty pharmacy is seeking two experienced pharmacists to support patients with rare and orphan diseases. This contract opportunity offers engagement with high-touch clinical services, requiring specialized knowledge of navigating complex patient and provider needs around therapy approvals, payment assistance, and unique dispensing processes.

Location: Bronx, NY
Type: Contract (13 weeks) with potential contract-to-hire and direct hire opportunities
Schedule: Monday to Friday, daytime shift

Key Responsibilities:

• Dispense rare and orphan specialty drugs while ensuring accuracy and adherence to protocols
• Facilitate communication between healthcare providers and patients, providing clinical guidance and support
• Assist patients and providers with insurance approvals, grants, rebates, and payment programs to manage therapy costs
• Utilize McKesson Enterprise (ERx) system for specialty pharmacy operations

Desired Experience and Qualifications:

• Active and clear Arizona pharmacy license in good standing
• Proven specialty pharmacy experience (not limited to retail with specialty drug dispensing)
• Familiarity with handling rare/orphan drug therapies and related disease states
• Strong clinical knowledge combined with excellent communication skills to engage effectively with patients and providers
• Ability to provide a specialty pharmacy reference upon submission

• Updated resume clearly detailing specialty pharmacy experience including disease states managed
• Copy of current Arizona pharmacy license
• One specialty pharmacy professional reference

This contract is in the final negotiation phase and available for immediate start. Candidates who have worked in a designated specialty pharmacy environment where complex patient navigation and high-touch management of specialty therapies were essential will be strongly considered.
