A specialty pharmacy is seeking two experienced Specialty Pharmacists to support patients with rare and orphan diseases. This role focuses on dispensing high-cost, complex therapies and requires professionals who have worked directly within specialty pharmacies. These positions are based in the Bronx, NY, with Monday through Friday day shifts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Dispense and manage rare/orphan drug therapies tailored to individual patient needs.
- Collaborate closely with healthcare providers and patients to ensure appropriate drug approval, usage, and adherence.
- Assist patients with navigating financial assistance programs including grants, rebates, and payment solutions.
- Utilize McKesson Enterprise (ERx) system for specialty pharmacy operations.
- Provide expert clinical guidance with high-touch patient and provider communication.
Desired Qualifications & Experience:
- Proven experience working specifically in a specialty pharmacy setting (not pure retail experience).
- Familiarity with designated specialty retail and/or specialty mail order pharmacy services is highly preferred.
- Strong clinical knowledge of rare disease states and specialty medications.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of managing complex provider-patient interactions.
- Active pharmacy license in Arizona, clear and in good standing.
