An opportunity is available for experienced Specialty Pharmacists to contribute their expertise in a specialized pharmacy setting that focuses on rare and orphan drugs. This role requires a deep understanding of the intricacies involved in handling specialty pharmaceuticals, particularly those used in treating rare diseases.

Location:

  • Situated in Brooklyn, NY, with a specialty pharmacy site operating in the Bronx area

Contract Details:

  • Contract type: 13-week contract-to-hire, with potential for direct hire
  • Schedule: Monday through Friday, day shifts
  • Immediate start preferred

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage dispensing and clinical care of rare and orphan drugs with a focus on accuracy and patient safety
  • Work closely with patients and healthcare providers to facilitate drug approvals, navigate insurance requirements, and provide support regarding grants, rebates, and other financial assistance programs
  • Deliver high-touch communication, ensuring that patients and providers are fully informed throughout the treatment process
  • Utilize McKesson Enterprise (ERx) specialty pharmacy system for daily operations

Desired Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience working within a designated specialty pharmacy (retail or mail order)—retail pharmacists without specialty pharmacy experience will not be considered
  • Strong clinical knowledge and communication skills to support patient and provider collaboration
  • Familiarity with handling rare/orphan drugs and complex reimbursement environments
  • Active and clear pharmacy license from Arizona (AZ)
  • Resume must explicitly indicate specialty pharmacy experience and specify diseases or states of specialization
  • Must provide a specialty pharmacy reference
