Staff Pharmacist | Broomfield, Colorado

A pharmacy in Broomfield, CO is seeking a skilled Staff Pharmacist for a 13-week contract with the potential for contract-to-hire based on performance. This role requires flexibility to work day and evening shifts, as early as 7 AM and as late as 11 PM, including rotating weekends.

Key Responsibilities:

• Accurately accept and dispense prescription medications in compliance with legal regulations
• Monitor patient medication adherence and identify patterns of overuse
• Maintain confidential patient records and ensure proper management of pharmacy files
• Advise patients regarding prescription and over-the-counter medications, including usage, side effects, and drug interactions
• Provide patient consultations such as smoking cessation support, blood pressure monitoring, and cholesterol management
• Educate patients on the correct use of medical devices like blood pressure monitors and glucose meters
• Compound medications and prepare sterile solutions following established protocols
• Supervise pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks
• Maintain appropriate inventory levels of pharmaceuticals and medical supplies
• Collaborate effectively with healthcare professionals to identify and address drug-related issues

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Valid Colorado pharmacist license required
• Retail pharmacy experience preferred; new retail pharmacists open to training
• Strong communication and patient education skills
• Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
• Flexibility to work variable shifts including early mornings, late evenings, and weekends
