Staff Pharmacist | Bruning, Nebraska

This role supports the delivery of pharmaceutical care in a retail setting by providing medications and expert advice consistent with professional standards. It reports to the Retail Pharmacy Manager and Director of Pharmacy and operates during day shifts as a full-time, non-exempt position.

Key Responsibilities:

• Dispense prescribed medications accurately while supervising pharmacy support personnel.
• Advise medical staff on drug therapy, potential side effects, and appropriate dosages.
• Maintain compliance with all state and federal pharmacy regulations.
• Conduct medication use reviews to assess patient outcomes and adherence.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to individualize medication regimens.
• Ensure proper storage and inventory control of pharmaceuticals.
• Respond to medication inquiries from hospital staff and the public.
• Maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA standards.
• Participate in developing drug use guidelines and policies.
• Provide mentorship to pharmacy and healthcare trainees.
• Support long-term care facilities through monthly pharmacy consulting.
• Engage in facility meetings and committees as needed.

Qualifications:

• Pharmacy degree from an ACPE-accredited institution.
• Current pharmacist license through successful completion of a licensure exam.
• PharmD preferred.
• Minimum of three years retail pharmacy experience preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and comply with regulatory requirements.

Work Environment:

• Indoor, smoke-free, climate-controlled pharmacy setting.
• Occasional exposure to biohazards, chemicals, and moderate noise.
• Required annual fit testing for a filtered respirator due to potential exposure to hazardous drugs.
