Staff Pharmacist in Buckeye, WV

A hospital-owned retail pharmacy in a community-focused setting is seeking a Staff Pharmacist for a 12-week medical leave coverage beginning 9/8. This role is based in a busy, well-rounded pharmacy featuring both traditional pharmacy services and a welcoming gift and coffee shop environment, aimed at enhancing the patient and visitor experience.

This position requires management of the entire retail pharmacy operation, including overseeing pharmacy technicians and staff pharmacists, ensuring the safe and accurate dispensing of medications, managing inventory, and handling compliance with controlled substances and 340B program requirements. Additional responsibilities include administration of immunizations, pharmacy billing, claims submission, and support of continuous quality improvement initiatives. Experience with Pioneer RX software is preferred, with training provided for EHR and pharmacy system use.

Schedule:

• 2 days per week, preferably Tuesday and Wednesday
• 10-hour shifts from 7:30 am to 6:00 pm (30-minute lunch)
• Approximately 20 hours weekly

Key Qualifications:

• Active and clear WV pharmacist license
• Experience with Pioneer RX software preferred
• Graduate of an accredited School of Pharmacy; PharmD preferred but not required
• Current CPR certification and immunization certification
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills

This assignment offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment with a moderate prescription volume of around 4,000 scripts per month. Flexibility on the preferred workdays is possible.
