A hospital-owned retail pharmacy serving a bustling community environment is seeking a skilled pharmacist to manage comprehensive pharmacy operations. This role offers a unique opportunity to work in a vibrant setting that includes a gift shop and coffee shop, enhancing the patient and visitor experience.

Location: Buckeye, WV
Schedule:

  • Approximately 20 hours per week
  • Preferred days: Tuesday and Wednesday
  • Shift: 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM (10-hour shift with a 30-minute lunch)

Assignment Details:

  • 12-week contract to cover medical leave
  • Start date: September 8
  • Prescription volume: Approximately 4,000 scripts per month
  • Setting: Hospital-owned retail pharmacy

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise pharmacy technicians and staff pharmacists
  • Verify, dispense, and ensure the accuracy and safety of medication distributions
  • Manage inventory, medication stock levels, and formulary compliance
  • Administer and maintain compliance with controlled substance regulations
  • Oversee the 340B program administration and compliance
  • Handle pharmacy billing, claims submission, and financial reconciliation
  • Utilize and ensure accuracy within EHR and pharmacy management systems (training provided)
  • Administer immunizations and support continuous quality improvement initiatives

Desired Qualifications:

  • Active and clear West Virginia pharmacist license
  • Experience with Pioneer RX preferred
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Pharmacy; PharmD preferred but not mandatory
  • Current CPR and immunization certifications
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills
