Staff Pharmacist - Burnsville, Minnesota

This opportunity is available for a licensed pharmacist ready to make an immediate impact in a fast-paced pharmacy setting. This 13-week contract position requires flexibility with shifts rotating between 9:30 a.m.–6:00 p.m., 10:00 a.m.–6:30 p.m., or 11:00 a.m.–8:30 p.m., including weekends.

• Burnsville, MN area

Responsibilities:

• Accept and dispense prescription medications accurately and efficiently.
• Monitor patient medication compliance and detect overuse patterns.
• Ensure medication supply adherence to legal requirements.
• Verify that prescribed medicines are suitable for patients.
• Maintain confidential and accurate patient records.
• Advise patients on medication usage, possible side effects, and answer their questions.
• Provide consultations on both prescription and over-the-counter medications regarding dosage, storage, side effects, and drug interactions.
• Deliver patient services including smoking cessation, blood pressure monitoring, and cholesterol management.
• Educate patients on the proper use of medical devices such as glucose meters and blood pressure monitors.
• Compound medications and prepare sterile solutions following established protocols.
• Supervise pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks.
• Maintain proper pharmaceutical and medical supply inventory.
• Collaborate with healthcare practitioners to identify and address drug-related issues.

Qualifications:

• Valid Minnesota pharmacist license required.
• Retail pharmacy experience is preferred but new retail pharmacists will be considered and trained.
• Strong communication and supervisory skills.
