Staff Pharmacist | Burnsville, Minnesota

A pharmacy role is available for a Staff Pharmacist located in Burnsville, MN, offering an 8-week contract in the Fridley/Minneapolis area. This position requires flexibility to work varied shifts, including 9:30 AM–6:00 PM, 10:00 AM–6:30 PM, or 11:00 AM–8:30 PM, with rotational weekend coverage on Saturdays and Sundays.

Responsibilities include:

• Accurately accepting and dispensing prescription medications while monitoring patient compliance and medication usage patterns.
• Ensuring all medications dispensed comply with legal standards and are appropriate for patients.
• Maintaining confidential and accurate patient records, managing pharmacy files efficiently.
• Providing expert consultation to patients regarding medication administration, possible reactions, side effects, and drug interactions.
• Delivering additional patient services such as smoking cessation support, blood pressure monitoring, and cholesterol management.
• Educating patients on the correct use and handling of medical devices like blood pressure monitors and glucose meters.
• Compounding medications and preparing sterile solutions following established procedures.
• Supervising pharmacy staff, including technicians and clerks, to ensure smooth pharmacy operations.
• Managing and maintaining appropriate pharmaceutical and medical supply inventory.
• Collaborating effectively with healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, and pharmacy interns, to resolve drug-related issues.

Desired qualifications include:

• A valid Minnesota pharmacist license is required.
• Open to retail pharmacists willing to learn and be trained on the job.
• Ability to work flexible shift hours and rotate weekend shifts.
