A challenging opportunity is available for a licensed Staff Pharmacist to work in a closed-door mail order pharmacy environment on the 2nd shift. This role requires a dynamic pharmacist skilled in medication dispensing, patient counseling, and supervising pharmacy technicians while ensuring compliance with all regulatory and safety standards.

Location: Carmel, IN
Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday, 12:30 pm – 9:00 pm
  • Possible Saturdays based on operational needs
    Job Type: Contract, 13 weeks+ with potential temp to direct hire conversion
    Travel: Up to 5%, flexibility preferred

Responsibilities:

  • Accurately dispense medications according to prescription orders
  • Provide detailed medication counseling addressing proper use, side effects, and interactions
  • Review and interpret physician orders to ensure safe and appropriate therapy
  • Monitor drug therapy for contraindications and interactions, and collaborate with healthcare providers to enhance patient outcomes
  • Maintain comprehensive and precise patient records, including medication histories and allergies
  • Enforce compliance with federal, state, and local pharmacy regulations
  • Oversee proper storage and handling of pharmaceuticals, ensuring quality and safety
  • Participate in pharmacy quality assurance and continuous improvement programs
  • Assist with inventory management including ordering and stocking pharmaceutical supplies
  • Deliver exceptional customer service by resolving inquiries and promoting pharmacy offerings
  • Supervise pharmacy technicians during the 2nd shift, providing guidance and support
  • Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with pharmacy practices

Qualifications:

  • PharmD degree required
  • Indiana Pharmacy License mandatory
  • California Pharmacy License preferred or willingness to reciprocate (assistance provided)
  • 1 to 3 years of retail pharmacy experience minimum
  • Strong communication skills with attention to detail
  • Supervisory experience or ability to supervise pharmacy technicians effectively
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
