A healthcare facility in Carrollton, TX is seeking two licensed pharmacists for a 9-week contract with the potential to transition into permanent roles based on performance. Ideal candidates will have skills in long-term care pharmacy and staff pharmacist duties, with a TX pharmacist license in hand. Retail pharmacists looking to transition or expand into long-term care settings will be considered and trained.

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday, 3:30 PM – 12:00 AM and/or 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM shifts
  • Rotating weekends

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accept and accurately dispense prescription medications following legal and safety guidelines
  • Monitor patient medication compliance and identify patterns of over-usage
  • Maintain confidential and accurate patient records
  • Provide patient counseling on the proper use of medications, possible side effects, and answer questions
  • Offer consultations on prescription and over-the-counter drug usage, storage, and interactions
  • Deliver patient services including smoking cessation support, blood pressure, and cholesterol monitoring
  • Educate patients on the handling of medical devices such as glucose meters and blood pressure monitors
  • Compound medications and prepare sterile solutions as required
  • Supervise pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks
  • Maintain and manage pharmaceutical and medical inventory levels
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and interns to identify and address drug-related problems

Qualifications:

  • Active Texas pharmacist license
  • Experience or willingness to be trained in long-term care pharmacy operations
  • Strong communication skills for patient and healthcare team interactions
  • Ability to perform PV1 and PV2 duties effectively
