A healthcare facility in Carrollton, TX is seeking two licensed pharmacists for a 9-week contract with the potential to transition into permanent roles based on performance. Ideal candidates will have skills in long-term care pharmacy and staff pharmacist duties, with a TX pharmacist license in hand. Retail pharmacists looking to transition or expand into long-term care settings will be considered and trained.
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday, 3:30 PM – 12:00 AM and/or 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM shifts
- Rotating weekends
Key Responsibilities:
- Accept and accurately dispense prescription medications following legal and safety guidelines
- Monitor patient medication compliance and identify patterns of over-usage
- Maintain confidential and accurate patient records
- Provide patient counseling on the proper use of medications, possible side effects, and answer questions
- Offer consultations on prescription and over-the-counter drug usage, storage, and interactions
- Deliver patient services including smoking cessation support, blood pressure, and cholesterol monitoring
- Educate patients on the handling of medical devices such as glucose meters and blood pressure monitors
- Compound medications and prepare sterile solutions as required
- Supervise pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks
- Maintain and manage pharmaceutical and medical inventory levels
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and interns to identify and address drug-related problems
Qualifications:
- Active Texas pharmacist license
- Experience or willingness to be trained in long-term care pharmacy operations
- Strong communication skills for patient and healthcare team interactions
- Ability to perform PV1 and PV2 duties effectively
