Per Diem Staff Pharmacist | Cedar Bluff, Virginia

An opportunity is available for a skilled Staff Pharmacist to support retail and compounding pharmacy operations on a per diem basis. This role involves primarily verifying retail prescriptions with some responsibilities for checking non-sterile compounded medications, ensuring accuracy in formulas through precise mathematical calculations.

Location: Cedar Bluff, VA
Schedule: Fridays, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Environment: Retail/Compounding pharmacy
Order Entry System: Pioneer RX

Key Responsibilities:

• Verify accuracy and appropriateness of retail prescriptions
• Review non-sterile compounded medications and confirm correct formulation calculations
• Perform retail line checks with attention to detail
• Collaborate within the pharmacy team to maintain quality and compliance

Qualifications & Experience:

• Licensed pharmacist in the state of Virginia
• Proven retail pharmacy experience required
• Experience with non-sterile compounding strongly preferred
• Proficiency with Pioneer RX or similar pharmacy order entry systems is beneficial
