A well-established long-term care pharmacy in Centerton, AR, seeks an experienced Pharmacist for a 13-week contract with potential to transition to permanent employment based on performance. This role offers an engaging blend of clinical and operational responsibilities in a supportive healthcare environment.
Location: Centerton, AR
Contract Duration: 13 weeks, contract to hire
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM
- Rotating weekends every 3 weeks
Key Responsibilities:
- Accept and dispense prescription medications accurately to patients.
- Monitor patient medication adherence and identify patterns of overuse.
- Ensure compliance with legal regulations related to medication supply and dispensing.
- Maintain confidential, accurate patient and pharmacy records.
- Provide patient counseling on medication usage, side effects, and drug interactions.
- Deliver additional health services including smoking cessation support, blood pressure monitoring, and cholesterol management.
- Educate patients on the proper use of medical devices such as glucose meters and blood pressure monitors.
- Compound medications for internal and external use and prepare sterile solutions following established protocols.
- Supervise pharmacy technicians and clerks to maintain smooth pharmacy operations.
- Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and healthcare teams to resolve drug-related issues and optimize patient care.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Possession of an active Arkansas pharmacist license.
- Will consider retail pharmacists with relevant skills and a willingness to train in long-term care settings.
- Experience with PV1 and PV2 duties and some IV compounding is preferred.
