Retail Staff Pharmacist in Chandler, AZ

A growing specialty pharmacy focused on providing rare and orphan drugs for patients with uncommon diseases is seeking two experienced Specialty Pharmacists for a contract opportunity. This role requires expertise in specialty pharmacy operations beyond retail dispensing, supporting patients and providers in navigating complex drug approval and financial assistance programs.

Location: Chandler, AZ
Contract Duration: 13 weeks with possible direct hire opportunity
Schedule: Monday to Friday, daytime shift

Key Responsibilities:

• Dispense rare and orphan specialty medications with precision and care
• Act as a critical liaison between healthcare providers, patients, and insurance to facilitate drug approvals
• Assist patients in accessing payment support options, including grants, rebates, and other assistance programs
• Provide high-touch clinical communication to ensure patients understand their therapy and adhere to treatment plans
• Manage documentation and compliance related to specialty drug dispensing

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Previous experience working specifically in a specialty pharmacy setting—retail pharmacy experience dispensing specialty medications without specialty pharmacy background will not be considered
• Strong understanding of rare/orphan drug therapies and associated reimbursement challenges
• Exceptional communication skills to coordinate with providers and engage patients effectively
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
