Retail Staff Pharmacist - Chandler, AZ

An opportunity is available for experienced Specialty Pharmacists to join a specialty pharmacy focused on rare and orphan drugs used for treating patients with rare diseases. This contract role offers a unique chance to apply specialized skills and clinical expertise in a high-impact environment managing complex medication therapies.

Location: Chandler, AZ
Job Type: Contract (13-week duration with possible direct hire)
Schedule: Monday through Friday, day shifts

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage dispensing and clinical oversight of rare and orphan drugs within the specialty pharmacy setting
• Collaborate closely with healthcare providers and patients to facilitate drug approvals and navigate insurance requirements
• Assist patients with accessing financial assistance programs, including grants, rebates, and payment support to ensure treatment affordability
• Provide high-touch clinical communication to support patient care and treatment adherence
• Maintain detailed documentation and compliance with all regulatory standards related to specialty pharmacy operations

Desired Experience and Qualifications:

• Proven experience working directly in a designated specialty pharmacy (pure retail pharmacist experience does not meet requirements)
• Strong knowledge of specialty pharmaceutical products, particularly rare and orphan drugs
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex medication approval processes and financial assistance strategies
• Excellent clinical and communication skills to effectively engage with patients and providers
• Ability to navigate a high-touch, patient-centered environment with attention to detail and professionalism
