Staff Pharmacist - Cheney, WA

A healthcare facility in Cheney, WA is seeking a licensed Pharmacist for a 9-week contract position starting August 3. This role offers an opportunity to apply clinical and retail pharmacy skills with a focus on patient care and medication management. Travelers are welcome to apply.

Responsibilities:

• Accept and accurately dispense prescription medications.
• Monitor patient medication compliance and identify over-usage patterns.
• Ensure compliance with legal standards for medication supply.
• Verify suitability of prescribed medicines for patients.
• Maintain confidential and accurate patient records and pharmacy files.
• Counsel patients on medication usage, potential side effects, and answer questions.
• Provide consultations on prescription and non-prescription drugs including storage, dosage, and drug interactions.
• Deliver additional patient services such as smoking cessation support, blood pressure monitoring, and cholesterol management.
• Educate patients on using medical devices like blood pressure monitors and glucose meters.
• Compound medications and prepare sterile solutions according to protocols.
• Supervise pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks.
• Manage inventory for pharmaceutical and medical supplies.
• Identify drug-related problems and collaborate with physicians and healthcare staff to optimize patient outcomes.
• Work closely with interdisciplinary teams including physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and interns.

Qualifications / Desired Experience:

• Valid Washington State pharmacy license is required.
• Experience in retail pharmacy is preferred; new graduates and retail pharmacists willing to train are welcome.
• Ability to perform PV1 and PV2 pharmacy duties.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Commitment to patient safety and regulatory compliance.

Schedule:

• Monday through Friday, day and evening shifts.
• Possible weekend rotation.
