Inpatient Staff Pharmacist in Chesapeake, VA

A contract opportunity for an inpatient pharmacist is available in Chesapeake, VA, starting on September 28 for a 13-week duration. This role requires a VA pharmacy license and a strong background in hospital inpatient pharmacy operations.

Schedule/Hours:

• Day shifts: 0630–1500, 0730–1600, 0900–1730, 1000–1830
• Evening shifts: 1300–2130, 1430–2300
• Overnight shifts: 1930–0730, 2030–0730

Responsibilities:

• Verify medication orders and enter orders accurately.
• Manage intravenous (IV) medication administration.
• Oversee pain-controlled analgesia and antibiotic therapies.
• Identify and handle drug interactions.
• Utilize EPIC for medication-related documentation and charting.
• Preferred experience includes chemotherapy medication handling, anticoagulant management, pharmacokinetic dosing, and renal dosing adjustments.

Qualifications:

• Must have a valid VA pharmacy license.
• Minimum of 1 year inpatient pharmacy experience required.
• EPIC electronic medical record (EMR) proficiency is mandatory.
• IV medication experience and knowledge of pain management protocols are essential.
• Travel pharmacy experience is preferred but not required.
