Staff Pharmacist | Chugiak, Alaska

Pharmacist opportunity available at a behavioral health facility in Anchorage, AK, specializing in pediatrics and detox. This contract position provides essential support coverage for approximately 8 weeks, starting ASAP, while the Director of Pharmacy is on leave. The role offers hands-on experience with acute care or behavioral health patients in a focused clinical environment.

Location: Anchorage, AK (Chugiak area)

Schedule/Hours:

• Mondays 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM weekly
• August 3rd-7th, Monday through Friday 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
• Potential additional weekday coverage as needed
• Weekend on-call coverage may be required occasionally

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform order entry using the HCS Web EMR system (onsite training provided)
• Conduct medication verification and checks with Omnicell automated dispensing systems via Citrix/OCRA Remote Desktop (training provided)
• Monitor drug therapies and ensure safe medication use
• Collaborate closely with pharmacy technician and staff pharmacist for distribution support

Preferred Qualifications:

• Current Alaska pharmacist license (required)
• Experience in acute care or behavioral health pharmacy preferred
• Comfortable working with pediatric and detox populations
• Ability to adapt to remote order entry and automation technology
