Staff Pharmacist - Chugiak, AK

A unique opportunity is available for a licensed pharmacist to provide specialized coverage at a behavioral health hospital in Anchorage, Alaska. This role supports an 8-week period of coverage while the Director of Pharmacy is on leave, with potential for additional weekday shifts and on-call assistance as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform order entry using HCS Web EMR, with onsite training provided
• Conduct Omnicell checks via Citrix/OCRA Remote Desktop automation system
• Monitor medication therapies within behavioral health specialties including pediatrics and detox
• Collaborate with pharmacy technicians for drug distribution support
• Adhere to business casual dress code and maintain professional standards

Qualifications/Desired Experience:

• Active Alaska pharmacist license required
• Experience in acute care or behavioral health pharmacy preferred
• Ability to quickly learn and navigate web-based order entry and automation systems
• Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills

Schedule:

• Mondays, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM weekly
• Additional coverage from August 3rd through 7th, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM
• Possible extra weekday shifts for pharmacist absences
• Weekend coverage not required initially; may include on-call support opportunities

Location:

• Anchorage, Alaska, with preference for local candidates; travel expenses may be considered for out-of-area pharmacists
