Staff Pharmacist | Cicero, Illinois

An opportunity is available for a Staff Pharmacist to support warehouse pharmacy operations in Cicero, IL. This 6-month contract role offers a Monday through Friday schedule from 10:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., providing a stable workweek and the chance to apply your expertise in medication management within a dynamic warehouse environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the receipt, storage, and distribution of medications, including refrigerated and specialty products.
• Manage inventory levels by ordering medications and supplies, while minimizing waste and handling expired products.
• Ensure compliance with USP standards and state/federal regulations regarding proper medication storage.
• Verify medication orders prior to preparation or shipment.
• Supervise pharmacy technicians handling inventory, picking, packing, and shipping tasks.
• Collaborate with sterile compounding pharmacists and technicians to guarantee the availability of medications and supplies for patient orders.
• Review controlled substance inventory, maintaining accurate documentation as required.
• Conduct cycle counts, inventory reconciliation, and quality assurance audits to uphold operational accuracy.
• Utilize pharmacy software and inventory management systems to monitor medication stocks.
• Coordinate with purchasing, nursing, and operations teams to facilitate timely delivery to patients.

Qualifications:

• Active and clear Illinois pharmacist license.
• Some knowledge or familiarity with intravenous (IV) medications.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to supervise and collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Proficiency with pharmacy inventory systems is a plus.
